    Tree Health in Retail Areas Workshop is June 28 in Sandy Springs

    Consulting Arborists Rob Swanson of Specimen Tree and Jesse Milton of Onebark will lead a GUFC workshop,

    "Tree Health in Retail Areas," on Tuesday, June 28, 9 a.m. to noon in Sandy Springs.  The location of the workshop is 7840 Roswell Road, Building 500.  The entrance to the building is on the northwest side of Building 500 (through the Municipal Court entrance, where the flags are).
      
    This workshop will cover:
    • Tree Physiology - Controlling growth and development
    • Energy movement in trees - Down streaming of photosynthate 
    • Why is proper pruning important to long term health?
    • Soil space requirements - Calculating the largest sustainable tree given the available rooting space
    • Possible reasons for variations found within the same retail site
    • Insect and disease management strategies
    • Working around people and cars using basal drenches and translaminar surfactants
    • Closing the communication loop when so many contractors impact tree health

    The registration fee is $25 for all.

    Morning refreshments provided.

    2.75 ISA Arborist CEUs.  2.5 SAF Forester CFE hours.  Certificates of Attendance for all.
