    8-9AM: Networking/Breakfast

    9-11AM: Instruction

    12-1PM: Lunch

    1-5pm: Instruction

    OVERVIEW

    This interactive women led two-day course, led by instructors with an infectious passion for training, offers students a comprehensive hands-on introduction to modern day tree climbing systems and techniques. Participants will learn about climbing equipment, gear inspection, risk assessment, accessing the tree, to setup and implementation of moving rope systems (MRS), and stationary rope systems (SRS). This course will give participants a solid foundation and insight into safe and efficient tree climbing.


    COURSE DESCRIPTION:

    • Gear Inspection
    • Personal Protective Equipment 
    • Tree & Site Risk Assessment 
    • Knots, Hitches, & Bends
    • Rope Installation: Tie in point selection, throw ball, & friction savers 
    • Climbing Systems: Closed vs. Open systems, & MRS vs. SRS
    • Ascending Techniques & Equipment
    • Maneuvering Through the Canopy: Work positioning
    • Descending & Equipment Retrieval
    WHAT TO BRING:

    • Positioning lanyard 
    • 2 Autolocking Carabiners 
    • 1 Hitch Climber Pulley
