FORESTRY & RIGHT-OF-WAY SERVICES (ROWS) SUPERVISOR
The ROWS Supervisor is responsible for the management and protection of approximately 16,000 miles of right of way in Georgia's Integrated Transmission System. The position leads the Right of Way Services (ROWS) group and includes oversight for the following program goals:
Approve permissible encroachments
Identify and mitigate impermissible encroachments
Evaluate and address erosion issues on GPC rights of way
Improve access to GPC rights of way
Educate the internal and external stakeholder on the appropriate uses of Transmission rights-of-way
Manage Transmission’s response to land sales requests
Execute capital improvement projects
Assist Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia (MEAG) and Dalton Utilities in the protection of their rights of way.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead, guide and performance-manage a team of 10 Transmission Right-of-Way Specialists located statewide.
Ensure encroachment program achieves the annual budget target.
Ensure consistent implementation of policies and procedures including effective change management communication relative to policy reviews, updates, and versioning controls.
Oversee Transmission's routing and approval of Land Sales and License requests.
Represent GPC on Southern Company's Right of Way Strategy team.
Lead special projects impacting GPC's Transmission rights of way and substation properties.
Foster sound business relationships with cross-functional organizations (Transmission, Distribution, Project Management Organization, Land Location / Acquisition, Environmental, Lighting, Colocation, Fiber, Renewables, Legal, etc.) as well as GPC's Integrated Transmission System (ITS) Participants
Ensure compliance with GPC environmental guidelines, Transmission bulletins, and financial policies
Ensure contractor resources meet GPC contract guidelines.
Lead / coordinate ROWS storm support efforts as needed which may include GPC Storm Center duties, on-system field restoration duties, and travel to off-system storm support efforts.
Requires statewide travel throughout Georgia with possible overnight stays.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirements :
Bachelor's degree preferred
Degrees and/or advanced credentials in: Real Estate, Forestry, Civil Engineering or Legal (J.D. degree) strongly desired.
Experience Requirements :
Experience in real estate or land issues is beneficial.
Legal experience preferred.
Supervisory experience desired.
Construction, civil and land development experience desired.
Transmission experience including line and/or ROW knowledge is beneficial
Demonstrated success in time management of multiple tasks including the ability to supervise a team of Specialists.
